Firearms Refresher Course

I recieved this as a forwarded email and thought it was worth passing along- but I don't like forwarding email, so here we go.

23. Enforce the gun control laws we ALREADY have; don't make more.
24. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

All excellent points, many quite witty. I believe #21 gets to the heart of the issue.

What we have is legislators, executives, and a judiciary who view the people with fear, rather than honor. Therefore, they wish to control the people, rather than serve them.

However, which followed the other? Knowing that which by grace is being put to death in my own breast, I suspect that the fear actually grew out of a desire to be powerful and praised. With that as their desire, of course they become fearful.

So what we need is... converted politicians in whom this desire and its corresponding fear are being put to death by grace, so that they would honor others above themselves and view their calling as service to others and ultimately to their Lord. Now that's something to work and pray for!

Thanks for letting me use your blog to think out loud :). I got to spend a small amount of time with David and Seth this week and enjoyed it thoroughly; do they read your blog?
